Anh Nguyen is the founder and principal of Spark Event Management, an award-winning, full-service event management firm in Calgary, Alberta. Anh is a seasoned business event professional who possesses over fifteen years of event design, production, and management experience. She has managed a vast array of events including intimate corporate functions, awards and fundraising galas, large conference, conventions and tradeshows, and international hospitality events and is known for her keen eye for detail while being able to lead, inspire and manage large, global teams. Anh discovered her passion and enthusiasm for the industry early on while she was completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta and since then, has held senior event management roles at a number of event management agencies before creating Spark Event Management in 2011.
Anh received her event management certificate and her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2011. She has served as the President of the Meeting Professional International – Greater Calgary Chapter (MPI GCC) and currently serves as the Director of Membership for the Canada West chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). During the Covid-19 pandemic, she is best known for creating the GMID Goes Virtual event, which brought together over 12,000 event professionals, all from a single tweet. She is also the co-founder of #EventProfsBreakShit, a community of event professionals testing event technology. In 2020, she was one of two Canadians named one of Meetings Today Trendsetters.
